Heartstrings

It is no accident that when people speak of heart touching moments that they would allude to the phrase 'heartstrings'. For truly and indeed, the heart is an instrument.

It's music is emotions and the tones it creates are the very essence of life and human interactions.

The beatings of the heart are the melodies that links each and every moment, the surround sound that permeates and bound us all to the seasons of our lives.

Our duty is to provide the lyrics and sing out what our heart is already playing. Sounding out the symphony of intentions.

But therein lies the disconnect, what our heart sings and what we can actually accomplish.

You might wake up everyday to the heavenly music of the heart, but making it heard, and playing it note for note is another matter...

Sometimes there is just too much noise that you yourself cannot hear your heart's song, let alone convey it to your intended.

At times, the void of distance is too great that all you hear are echoes, and all that the world can perceive are muffled instances.

The heart is an instrument, but its strings oft plays only silence. But then again, we can't all be Mozarts, that would take away its significance.

Sometimes being tone deaf, or the passable pretense of it, is the best way forward.

There is music out there, in the stars, in the mystery of the twilight, but perhaps we are not all meant to see its conclusion.

She by Elvis Costello

"Tis' but foregone, two hearts entwine, or just this dream, a man forlorn?"
~ Hazlan Zakaria

SHE by Elvis Costello

She
May be the face I can't forget
The trace of pleasure or regret
May be my treasure or the price I have to pay
She
May be the song that summer sings
May be the chill that autumn brings
May be a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day

She
May be the beauty or the beast
May be the famine or the feast
May turn each day into a heaven or a hell
She may be the mirror of my dreams
The smile reflected in a stream
She may not be what she may seem
Inside her shell

She
Who always seems so happy in a crowd
Whose eyes can be so private and so proud
No one's allowed to see them when they cry
She
May be the love that cannot hope to last
May come to me from shadows of the past
That I'll remember till the day I die

She
May be the reason I survive
The why and wherefore I'm alive
The one I'll care for through the rough in ready years
Me
I'll take her laughter and her tears
And make them all my souvenirs
For where she goes I've got to be
The meaning of my life is

She
She, oh she

Sabah's gift

I am enslaved,
to these tonal caress.
Gentleness' tongue,
tenderness' voice.

Furtive Seraphims,
notes dancing into song.
Sensual to the touch,
elegent perfect.

A breath of colour,
to paint cheeks red.

A dash of moments,
to warm cold hearts.

A whiff of dreams,
link two souls a-part.

I am lost O Lord,
upon the plane of lust.
Misled by the chords,
of these melodic repast.
