Upon Andaman Shores

"Left upon Andaman shores, foot prints made in heaven,
for even angels marked for toil, deserve  one night in Eden."

~ Baronhawk aka Hazlan Zakaria

An Ode To Ellyne

Beholding you; A sun
with shine in your pocket
courage, your handmaiden
the battles that you have fought.

Understanding you; A puzzle
I try and tried to fathom
intricate, tiny pieces
making up the Ellyne kingdom

Lo! you stand; A queen
the blush brushed moon of night
whose rosy cheeks alight
with your tender-wonderful heart.

To friend and kin; A beacon
through bright dawns, sleepy twilight
the stalwart Lady who beckons
to the best of what's inside.

The printed words; A layer
to the petals, Ellynita
a lady that deems and holds
the pics de lumière éternelle

These words; A tribute
from seasons lies hidden still
an unworthy homage
to the Lady of rose and steel.

@baronhawk concoction 2009.

A Near-Distant Chagrin...

There is a lark that sits
upon careworn shoulders
recalling the mind to wit
telemetry of past blunders

memory mind past-intersects
details missed connections
itinerary and vignettes
unscheduled heart-collision

dry docked ego's conceit
inundated unclear intention
an un-completed ship
a voyage un-undertaken

"I am as I was" he says "still"
trapped within self-prison walls
"nothing and everything" that fails
when push comes to shove all

but a little voice still sing
when "Little Miss Orchid" skips by
sigh ache wish dream
wistful of a conscious lullaby.

"Mana Setangginya?"

Sebuah puisi jawapan bagi satu pertanyaan mengenai sebuah pementasan berjudul "Mana Setangginya?"

Ellynita Lamin :
meneroka & menanya, "Mana Setangginya?"

Hazlan Zakaria:
"Mana Setangginya?"
Anugerah tuhan pada kita,
setanggi untuk semua,
nyawa nikmat rezeki dunia
berganding ajaran luhur fatwa,
sayang cilik disalah guna,
diolah dendam, rakus, haloba,
hebat manusia tidak ke mana
hanya mainan dunia fana
akhirnya tiada pasca
ajaran untuk manusia alpa.

The MOON -- Ellyne

effortless you shine
mysterious majestic
complimenting night

of Pockets And Sunshine

Among cloud bursts
clear blue skies

brimming currents
fresh cool sighs

tender pockets
soft warm shy

angel's gift
pockets full of sun.

To Steal A Kiss

When I loved you
you were the first
soo many things to say
yet not knowing the words

I looked for a way
wished for the sentence
all for me to say
what my heart really yearns

alas my vision dimmed
my thoughts are furled
my very being trapped
within a silence unstirred

all I see is your hair
that the wind so carelessly blew
I wish it were my fingers
in your tresses dancing through

all I see are your eyes
doing that thing that they do
as they dance that special tango
shining with that special light of you

all I see is your smile
from those lovey lovely lips
for which I would die
to feel the brush of each

all I hear is your voice
which holds me to your sway
oh! such tender melodies
that once only seraphin played

so I stopped at hello
and said my goodbyes
for the lovely lady that was you
always left me tounge-tied

but I wish it were now
and you are here reading this
for my heart still do yearn
to steal from you a kiss.

By The Silent Window

I sit alone, by the silent window.
watching the dance, of falling rain.
The raindrops echo, my tears of sorrow.
That accompanies, my waltz of pain.

A freezing breeze, of absent harmony.
Sings the loneliness, of a tango by one.
It's empty chorus, a hollow melody.
The imperfections, of steps out of rhyme.

The staccato beats, of tempo has died.
it's flame and rhythm, it's warmth is gone.
The heart's metronome, is stilled by ice.
It's love forgotten, as once-popular songs.

All that's left, an abandoned dance floor.
Grey with dust, with notes of broken dreams.
Of hope bereft, it's dances done for.
Into the dusk, with echoes of might have beens.

In The Darkened Candlelight

I stayed out all alone
in the darkened candlelight
left there on my own
to languish in my plight.

Hiding in the shadows
are cold uneaten meals
what remains of lost echoes
of what used to be real.

A single rose still stands
in the vase of what was
but it is blackened to the stem
a symbol of hurt and loss.

I sat there all alone
at a table meant for two
crying on my own
upon memories of you.

In the darkened candlelight
as it danced its faded gleam
I cried out my bleeding heart
at the loss of hope and dream.

The Memory of You

Ever would I remember
the times of we together
though it's better to forget
your memory holds me back.

Long have I suffered
in dreams I often whispered
but it lives within memory
our piece of love's history.

Looking always for a reason
to forget all the seasons
but still I do remember
the times of we together.

You were my first and still the one
oh how I wish for it then
though I have ever since moved on
my heart still often sings your song.

Now and then, forever on
my heart is no longer only my own
for a piece of me has gone astray
along with you as you went away.

Ever still I will remember
all the times of we together
to whatever fate that I am due
I bring always the memory of you.

My Lullaby To You

Sleep baby sleep,
you're no angel tonight.
Even angels need,
to rest their wings from flight.

Close your lovely eyes,
my little angel true.
Let me be the one,
to be watching over you.

If you are lonely,
sad or in despair.
Just remember me,
for you I'll always be there.

Of Poetry and Passion

The beginnings of my motions
upon the poetic stage,
began long ago
in my youthful age.

But the stirrings of passion
within my mortal shards,
began but a while ago
with the breaking of my heart.

Amidst the chatterings
of friendly acquaintance,
In vain I tried
to gain her attention.

Until after a spell
of awful silence,
did she inquire
as to my intentions.

"Nothing and everything" I replied
leaving her question unanswered,
"ah, the poet speaks"
was the response she tendered.

Thus I lay my aching heart
delicately upon the line,
whispering to her ears
my tales of love sublime.

"I'm flattered" she replied
but to her I am just a friend,
I took it all in stride
but my heart will never ever mend.

In the well of my emotions
is a wound that disappoints,
the rejections of love
a pain that never ends.

I once heard of this
a tale told by friends,
"you must be hurt"
"before you can lift the writer's pen".

ELLYNE

Enroute to reason
I was ensnared
by that lovely vision
of beauty unmarred

Losing all sense
of all direction
I roam the expense
of my infatuation

Love was kindled
passion aflamed
my heart was ladened
with amorous acclaim

Your lovely mirage
your angelic countenance
holds hostage my heart
my absolute existance

Never before
in my life's experience
have I felt evermore
this whirlwind of emotions

Entangled am I
in this wishful web
with no inkling why
nor any hope in my stead.

Little Miss Orchid

Like a dream
upon a dark slumber
Like a breeze
upon a hot summer

You bring to me
a spark of fire
To light my heart's
dying ember

Like a song
of sweet harmony
Like a picture
of infinite beauty

You have woken
inside of me
Love that I thought
was not to be

Like the sun
on the first of spring
Like the flower
as it starts blooming

You brought me hope
a new beginning
The warmth of love
to a heart that's freezing

In The Palace of My Mind

In the palace of my mind,
there is a place that I reserve,
For a lady that have touched my soul,
and shown me what it is to love.

She was never mine to begin with,
and never did I manage to win her hand.
But forever will I keep her with me,
even though its just memories in my mind.

My heart was hollow and my soul was empty,
until the day she walked into my life.
Her presence brightens up my gloomy days,
She brings happiness and makes me so alive.

But fate has foretold and destiny decided,
she was not for me nor am I for her.
We are meant to walk on paths that diverged,
not to share our life beside the other.

It will be a garden of flowers free and wild,
this place that I reserve for she that I revere.
Where wildflowers grow and sway in the wind,
so beautiful and willful oh! just like her.

I will move on with my life that's for sure,
but I will always return to this place now and then.
To watch the wildflowers dance and sway,
and to remember the lady that holds my heart in her hand.
