What worth is a man
in the face of history
the records of his time
his life's pecularities
is he full of convictions
driven to destiny
or a product of conditions
lead on by opportunity
the weighing of the scales
does confound absolutely
for the measuring of tales
differs with individuality
annals of the past
a constant ambiguity
his reasons and repast
are buried indefinately
at the counting of the years
a tally of his deeds
for the sum total that appears
is he did what he did
ask not the motivation that drives a man
its the same by intention as it is by chance
what matters most in the very end
his leap into fate in the face of circumstance.
